MEET THE SAN JOSE PEREGRINES
You are invited to observe, in person, the Downtown Peregrine Falcons!
Come and meet San Jose’s famous Peregrine Falcon pair, Clara and Esteban, in their native habitat - on City Hall. An invitation is not actually required, but the friends of the San Jose Peregrine Falcons want to be sure Clara and Esteban’s fans know that dedicated followers of the pair will be on top of the 4th Street Garage to talk with you and give you a look through a birding telescope when the falcons come out to sun themselves, or take flight or find food. They’ll have pictures to show and information to share.
Experienced observers often gather on the 4th Street Garage during the nesting season, and they are always happy to talk, but you can be sure of meeting someone on Saturdays – April 2d, 9th, 16th, 23d and 30th, and May 14th - from 3 to 5 pm.
The Fourth Street Garage is located at 88 South Fourth Street at the corner of Fourth and San Fernando. Simply come up to the very top of the garage and meet other falcon fans. Don't forget your binoculars, and also a warm jacket if you plan to stay into the evening hours. Regardless of weather, it cools down significantly atop the garage. And bring a friend! Open up a vast new world to them. It truly can be life changing, and is certainly life affirming.
Then enjoy any of San Jose's great downtown restaurants for dinner or late afternoon snack!
